Define Labor Cost

Explanation

Use this activity to specify costs related to labor.

Prerequisites

A labor class must have been defined.

Procedure

To perform from Manufacturing Labor Class

  1. Open the  Manufacturing Labor Class window.
  2. In the Labor Class field, select the labor class for which you want to define labor costs.
  3. Click the Cost tab and create a new record.
  4. In the Cost Set column, specify the cost set for which you want to define a cost.
  5. In the Start Date and End Date columns, specify the date range during which the cost will be valid. If you do not specify an end date, the cost will have unlimited validity. You cannot enter a date range that overlaps another date range for the same cost set.
  6. In the Labor Class Rate field, specify the labor class rate for this labor class.
  7. In the Overhead field, specify the overhead cost for this labor class.
  8. In the Overhead Unit list, select the overhead unit for this labor class.
  9. Repeat steps 2 - 8 for each cost you want to define for this labor class.
  10. Save the changes.

To perform from Labor Class Costs

  1. Open the Labor Class Costs window.
  2. Create a new record.
  3. Enter the Site and Labor Class you want to define cost
  4. In the Cost Set field, enter the cost set for which you want to define the cost.
  5. Specify the cost in the Labor Class Rate column and give a value to the Start date column.
  6. Create a new record and repeat steps 4 and 5 for each cost you want to enter.
  7. Save.
