Generate and Print/Reprint an Aviation Part Certificate
Explanation
This activity is used to generate and print an aviation
part certificate in-house for a component or aircraft. A part certification form
may be generated after a maintenance action such as a shop visit for an
aircraft, an engine overhaul or component repair is completed. The form can be
issued for a single serialized component, a single non-serialized component, a defined set of serialized components
or a batch of components. Components in this context refer to both assemblies
and vehicles.
The printed part certificate can be authorized by
either manually or digitally signing the document. If the paper format is used,
the authorized certificates
can then be scanned and stored in IFS Document Management (i.e., using the
Connected Objects feature). When scanning the document be sure to save it in
PDF format if you want to store it in IFS Document Management.
Prerequisites
- Basic data for part certificates must have been defined.
- The person generating the certificate must be an authorized approver.
- The maintenance organization must have a valid approval to generate
certificates.
- The part for which the certificate is to be generated should be included
in the capability list for the approval.
Additional prerequisites when generating a part certificate from a
maintenance order:
- There should not be any overdue life limit events for the serial
structure when generating part certificates for VIM serials from a
maintenance order.
- The maintenance order must be in the Work Done or Finished
status and all work on the order must have been completed or canceled.
- If more than one sign off requirement exists on the maintenance order,
only counter sign off can remain to be performed or both sign off and
counter sign off must have been performed. If only one sign off requirement
exists to be performed, that sign off (either sign off or counter sign off)
will be performed when generating the certificate.
Additional prerequisites when generating a part certificate from a complex
assembly work order:
- The complex assembly work order must be in the Work Done,
Reported or Finished status and all work on the order must have
been completed or cancelled.
Additional prerequisites when generating a part certificate from a work
order:
- The work order should have the EQUIPMENT connection type and should have
a serial object connection or it should be a repair work order.
- For lot batch parts, the lot batch number must be specified when
creating the work order.
- The work order should be in the Work Done, Reported or
Finished status and all work on the order should have been completed or
cancelled.
- All sign off requirements on the work order tasks must have been
performed.
System Effects
- The part certificate will be printed with the form
type defined for the authority of the maintenance organization
of the order.
- It will be possible to view the existing part
certificate for the originating object (e.g., maintenance order) in the
Part
Certificates window.
- It
will be possible to reprint the generated part certificate.
- The Part Certification Form check box will be selected in the window from which the
Print Release to Service Documents assistant was opened.
