Part Configuration Revision

[About Configuration]

[To Define CTO Basics]

Usage

Use this window to define and maintain the configured part specification revisions. A part specification revision is the set of characteristics or attributes necessary to fully describe a configured part. This window is used to maintain not create the characteristics making up the revision and also to define how the configuration description will be shown.

The first part specification revision is created in the Tentative state when the configuration family is attached to the configurable part in the Part Configuration Revision tab of Part. Create new revisions there and then maintain them here. The characteristics associated with a specific part configuration revision are the only ones in the family that can be used in a configuration specification for that part configuration revision.

Note: When creating a new sales part connected to a configurable inventory part, the part catalog record of the sales part also becomes configurable (without a configuration family). Multiple configurable sales parts connected to a single inventory part can be created only when the part catalog record of each sales part exists without a configuration family.

For a description of each tab in the window, follow the appropriate link: Characteristics, Configuration Description.
