Update Design Object Planned Cost from ERMPL
Explanation
This activity is used to enable the update of the costs and cost elements of
the design object from the engineering register material procurement list
(ERMPL).
Prerequisites
- At least one part must be registered on the ERMPL
tab.
- A cost change made to ERMPL must exist. The addition of a cost element
with the planned cost or the modification of existing cost elements is
considered a cost change.
System Effects
- The costs along with their related cost elements, of the demand in
ERMPL, will be applied to the
design object in IFS/Asset Design.
- The design object's planned cost in the Project/Connections
tab will be updated with the change.

Procedure
Note: Right-click on a part line in the ERMPL window/tab and select the Cost Elements
option to make a change to the planned cost for the demand registered in that
window/tab.
Use the following procedure to update the design object planned cost from
ERMPL on the
Project Connections window:
- Open the Project Connections window.
- Search for the design object for which you want to update planned costs
from ERMPL.
- Observe that the Cost Updated from ERMPL
check box is cleared, indicating that the Total Planned Cost of the design
object has not been updated from ERMPL, based on the total planned cost of
the additional parts of the design object.
- Right-click and click Update Planned Cost from
ERMPL. The Cost Updated from ERMPL check
box will have been selected. The value in the Total Planned Cost
field for the Design Object in the Project Connections
window will reflect the changes to the planned
cost that you just entered in the ERMPL
window/tab.
Use the following procedure to update the design object planned cost from the
ERMPL window/tab:
- Open the
Project
Navigator or the Project
window, and search for the respective project. Alternatively on the Activity
window, search for the required activity. Click on the
Demand/ERMPL
tab. Alternatively, simply open the ERMPL
window.
- Select a demand line, right-click and click Update Design Object Planned
Cost.
- Observe that the Design Obj. CE Updated check box on
this window/tab and the Cost Elements Updated from ERMPL field in the Project Connections window will be selected, indicating that the
Total Planned Cost for the parts in the design object has been updated from the ERMPL. The value in the
Total Planned Cost
field for the Design Object in the Project Connections
window will reflect the changes to the planned
cost that you just entered in the ERMPL
window/tab as well.
