Enter Substitute Schedule

Explanation

Use this activity to enter exception days to the cycle schedule information. The substitute schedule contains the dates where the cycle definition would result in an incorrect day type or an incorrect amount of working hours (work hours sum). The substitute schedule completes the cycle schedule with the days that do not follow the standard cycle. The accounting dates entered in the substitute schedule always override the cycle schedule.

The same substitute schedule can be linked to any number of cycle schedules.

Note: The substitute schedules can also be used for the day-by-day schedules.

There are two ways to define the exceptions in the substitute schedule:

These options are described in the Enter Cycle Schedule help file.

The Schedule Cycle Overview window provides a tool to ensure the correct definition of substitute schedules. This is especially helpful in cases where you have shift schedules, such as employees with different working hours or overtime compensation before a holiday, depending on which shift they are on.

A substitution schedule is linked to a schedule in the Schedule Details window (right-click in the Cycle Schedule and Day-by-Day Schedule windows). The same substitute schedule can be linked to several cycle schedules or day-by-day schedules.
