Link Absence Type to Absence Wage Codes
Explanation
This activity is used to link absence types to absence wage codes. When absence
is registered by an employee directly using the absence wage code, e.g. from
Time Clock terminal, the corresponding records will be created in
the Absence window using the absence type linked to the absence wage
code.
Note: It is not recommended to connect the
conversion type absence codes in the TA Association.
Conversion type absence codes are used to generate information type absence and
can be used in the timecard-day. User cannot use these type of absence codes to
register absences in the absence window as the absence window is purely used for
absence registration.

In order to perform this activity,

Procedure
- Open the Absence Configuration/TA Association tab and create
a new record.
- Enter wage class and wage code in the respective fields by selecting values
from the list. The absence type is now linked to the wage code specified.
- In Time and Attendance module, it is only required to log how many hours
were spent on an activity, e.g., 5 hours logged on Project Activity 1, 2 hours
for Project Activity 2 and 1 hour for Administration. However, when you log
an absence using Time and Attendance, the Absence module requires precise information
on when the absence started/ended. This information is usually given in Time
From and Time To fields, that are not present in Time and Attendance.
To solve that, use the Initiate Transaction at Day Start check box.
- If selected, when absence is logged using Time and Attendance
module, it will be logged at the beginning of the working day.
- If cleared, when absence is logged using Time and Attendance,
it will be logged at the end of the working day.
- In the Merge Method field, select how an absence should merge with
adjacent absences.
Following values are available:
- With Previous - the absence will merge with a preceding absence,
- With Next - the absence will merge with a subsequent absence,
- With Previous and Next - the absence will merge with both preceding
and subsequent absences,
- Do Not Merge - the absence will not merge with any absences and
will be logged as a separate record.
- In the Registration Mode field, select how absences should be transferred
to Time and Attendance.
- This flag controls edit/delete actions of wage hours connected to authorized
absence requests.
- Adjustable Yes – End user is able to edit/delete absence
hours at time registration/time card after absence request is authorized
- Adjustable No- End user is not allowed to edit/delete
reported absence hours after absence request is authorized.
- Repeat the step above in order to link the absence type with more wage codes.
- Save the information.
