Define Dependant Absence Types

Explanation

This activity is used to define dependant absence types. This configuration allows you to define the maximum number of absence days that can be taken by an employee without prior notice. The maximum number of days you specify using this activity will be the default number of days that can be generated as limits for the dependant absence type. When employee registers an absence period, the absence limits defined for the dependant absence type can be used along with the limits for the registered absence type. In such cases, the main absence limit as well as the dependant absence limit is reduced (Note that they do not sum up. The dependant absence limit only adds information to the main absence limit). In this activity, you can also specify whether individually registered corrective values should be considered when the limit is generated.

Prerequisites

In order to perform this activity, absence types are required to be already defined in the Absence Configuration/Absence Type Lists tab.

Procedure

  1. Open the Absence Configuration window.
  2. Click on the required absence group in the tree navigator. The Absence Group tab will be enabled in the right pane of the window. Go to the Dependant Absence Type sub tab.
  3. Create a new record. Enter an absence type in the Dependant Absence Type field.
  4. In the Absence Calculation Period Unit field, enter a value using the list to specify whether the absence registered for employees using this absence type should apply for all working days, calendar days or working hours.
  5. In the Default Value field, enter the number of dependant absence days allowed to be used from an absence limit.
  6. Select the Corrections check box if individually registered corrective values should be considered when the dependant limit is generated.
