Define Access to Absence Types

Explanation

This activity is used to define the absence types to which user groups (created in the Data Access Group Definition window) have access.

Prerequisites

In order to perform this activity, absence types are required to be defined in the Absence Configuration window.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, the persons connected to the access group will be able to access the absence type information.

Procedure

  1. Open the Data Access window.
  2. Query or populate to select a data access group in the Group ID field.
  3. Go to the Absence Type tab, right-click and click Get All. All the absence types created for absence groups in the Absence Configuration window will be listed.
  4. Select the Granted check box for the absence types which should be accessible to the persons belonging to the data access group. Select the Can Modify and Can Remove check boxes if persons should be allowed to modify and delete absence type information.
  5. If you want to grant access to all the absence types simultaneously, first right-click and click Select All. All the absence types will be highlighted. Right-click again and click Grant Access. The Granted check box will be selected  for all the absence types.
     
  6. In the same way as you used the Grant Access right-click option, you can right-click and use the options Revoke Access, Grant Modify, Revoke Modify, Grant Remove and Revoke Remove in order to grant or revoke access for the absence types you have selected.
